Each day, patients and their loved ones walk through the doors of Coastal Cancer Center. As we celebrate those who provide unconditional support to our patients as part of Caregivers Month in November, we asked some of our providers what the word caregiver means to them. Here are their words of appreciation for the families and friends of our patients who keep our patients fighting the battle day-in and day-out:

“Thank you to the friends and family members of our patients who provide a constant outpouring of care and support.  You are a vital part of the cancer care team and provide essential support to your loved ones.  Your presence and encouragement provide an indispensable benefit. Thank you for all that you do for our patients. “ – Dr. Emily Touloukian

“Caregiver – one who gives care. Best friend, husband, wife, mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son, neighbor. One who goes alongside and helps. Courageous, faithful, loving and kind. We salute you for all that you do. Thank you for helping make a difference and reminding us of your significant contribution in this journey we call cancer care.” – Angie Brinegar, ANP-BC, AOCNP

“Thank you caregivers for the support you give our patients.  Many times your needs seem to be forgotten, but we know the sacrifices you make.  Take a moment for yourself this month to recharge and renew.  You do make a difference in the lives of the patients, and you are appreciated.” – Nanette Kelly, FNP-C, GNP-BC
