What you can expect
Here are a few things you should know when you visit Coastal Cancer Center.
Your First Visit
Please arrive at the time you are given. You do not need to arrive any earlier.
Bring with you:
- Completed New Patient Forms. You are new to our practice and we understand that you may have completed similar forms elsewhere, however, it is vital that we have these to be able to provide you the care you deserve while adhering to legal guidelines.
- Your Health Insurance and Prescription Cards.
- Your government-issued photo ID.
- Medications: Please bring a complete list, including strength and dosage, of medications. If you do not have a list, please bring the original containers. We need to know what medications you are taking, including over-the-counter medications, vitamins and herbal supplements.
- A family member or caregiver to enhance communication.
- A list of any questions you have.
If you need to reschedule your appointment or if you are going to be late, please notify us as soon as possible. We understand things happen. We are here for you.
Your first visit will take longer than follow-up visits. During your first visit, you will see the physician who will perform a thorough examination. The remainder of your visit will be spent with the physician and the care team discussing your diagnosis, evaluation and treatment options. You will likely have lab work done. An individualized care plan will be made for you and your follow-up appointments will be scheduled. If your plan includes chemotherapy, you will also be scheduled for a Plan of Care teaching appointment with one of our Advanced Practice Providers, our team of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
Once You Depart
Contact our NURSE NAVIGATOR during normal hours at the location where you are normally seen by your physician if you are:
- Experiencing problems or side effects from a prescription or treatment.
- Experiencing nutrition issues.
- Have questions of any kind.
After Hours, Weekends, Holidays
Coastal Cancer Center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Day or Night, if you have any change in your condition, your symptoms worsen, whatever the reason, never hesitate to call us for any problem that is important to you. There is no need to be afraid. If a medication is not working, call us. There are often alternative treatments or additional changes that may make you more comfortable. We are here for you.
For life-threatening emergencies, call 911 immediately. Call our office only after you have made arrangements to go to the Emergency Department.
We participate with many insurance plans and keep up with changes in coverage. We will file all the necessary claims for you. We currently participate with the following plans:

As a courtesy to our patients, we will file claims with all insurance plans.
We Ask That You
- Pay your copayment and any deductible at the time of service.
We accept Cash, Checks, VISA, Master Card, American Express, Discover and Money Orders. Financial assistance is also available depending upon a patient’s circumstances. To see if you qualify, please contact our office to learn more.
