Carolina Cancer Foundation was established to ensure that cancer patients are able to have access to the most advanced cancer care in their community. Within budgetary capabilities, Carolina Cancer Foundation offers support to uninsured and underinsured cancer patients in Horry and Georgetown Counties to help with the expenses of chemotherapy, chemotherapy administration and supportive cancer care medications. Additionally, we provide referrals to local social service counseling and other agencies.
Our goals are simple.
We will help by:
- Coordinating patient advocacy.
- Supporting treatment coverage efforts.
- Providing cancer education.
- Assisting underinsured and uninsured patients.
Education is key.
The Carolina Cancer Foundation is approved by the South Carolina Nurses Association to provide Continuing Education in Nursing. By these means, the Foundation helps to coordinate community education efforts regarding cancer prevention, early detection and treatment.
The Foundation works at both the state and national levels to improve quality of life and ensure the highest quality of care on behalf of cancer patients throughout Horry and Georgetown Counties. The Foundation acts as a liaison to our state and national governments to communicate the healthcare needs of patients undergoing cancer treatment and care. Because we know firsthand the tremendous burden a diagnosis of cancer can have on both the patient and their loved ones, our members make frequent trips to advise our legislative leaders on oncology issues in an effort to make a real difference for cancer patients everywhere.
How you can help.
Through generous donations to Carolina Cancer Foundation, we are able to help meet the needs of cancer patients in Horry and Georgetown Counties. With your donation you can be assured that your gift will help local cancer patients in our community. Here are just a few ways you can help:
- In memory of or in honor of a loved one or friend.
- In honor of a caregiver.
- In honor of a staff member who provided care at one of our locations.
There is an ever-growing need. Whether you donate a few dollars or you want to help on a grander scale, each and every donation is vital to the success of this foundation. If you or someone you know has been touched by cancer, or you simply want to help make a difference for others, we ask that you contact us about making a donation to show your support for our charitable efforts in the community. Carolina Cancer Foundation is a 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization under the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.
