Matthew J. Karpenko, DO
Dr. Karpenko joined Coastal Cancer Center in 2010. He is on the active staff at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Conway Medical Center and Waccamaw Community Hospital. He has consulting privileges at Conway Medical Center and Brunswick Community Hospital. He is licensed in South Carolina, North Carolina, New York, Florida and Ohio.
Dr. Karpenko is Board Certified from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine.
A native of Rochester, New York, Dr. Karpenko received his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA. He completed his Internship/Residency as Chief Resident at United Health Services in Johnson City, NY. He performed his Fellowship at The Ohio State University in Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Karpenko also was a research fellow at and received a MS degree from Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY.
He is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
